The good folks at Savage E-Liquid surprised us with a care package of some of their top flavors. One of the ones that most piqued our curiosity is Straw Nanners. While we love strawberry, banana flavors often come off too strong and artificial. Their RIPE line promises a perfect fruit blend, so we accepted the challenge to our discerning palate.
Well we were NOT disappointed. Straw Nanners really did balance these two flavors quite nicely (A heck of a lot better than the 1990's Tropicana Twist juices did!). The first impression from the highly stylized foil label is pleasant. No goofy rip-off logos, just eye catching and unique. The viscosity of the liquid is balanced and will work nice dripped or in a tank. Not so thick it clogs your coil, not so thin it runs out and leaks. We like to give flavors a fair chance, not just review a first impression. We vaped Straw Nanners every day for a week and a half and the flavor did not get old.
RIPE accurately describes the flavor tho, as the overall experience is full bodied and sweet. The inhale hits with a strong strawberry flavor. Just tart enough to keep it interesting and help avoid "vapers tongue". Exhale is sweeter for sure and carries a subtle note of banana. Not that chemical, artificial aftertaste you get from the dreaded laffy taffy flavor, but more like just the hint of flavor you might get in a well blended smoothie.
I noticed, when vaped at a lower temperature, it's not only more tart and fruity, but the Strawberry flavor becomes more pronounced. When you crank up the watts, banana comes out a little more predominately. As the day progressed I found myself vaping hotter for a sweeter finish.
Overall Straw Nanners by Vape 100 lives up to it's Ripe name. At $16 its a very affordable option for those who love a well balanced, natural tasting, but not overly complex fruit vape.
